https://ift.tt/2XcBtL6 A friend recently told me that they'd been "told about my blog". I was positively curious, so I asked more. They said they were told by someone we mutually knew a few years ago, who told them to "check it out..." And laughed. It transpires that they thought my page was laughable. That it was in some way a joke. That because it was me (someone they knew) they could mock it and me. This page was set up to share my story of depression, anxiety and bullying. It was set up to help others, to hopefully motivate others, to raise awareness about these issues. I took a brave and bold decision to do this, publically, and share this with the people I know. Because I was putting some of my most personal life experiences out in the open. But I'd do it again because I believe raising awareness and sharing stories is the key to help, support and showing people that it's "ok to talk". Somehow, I know of a lot of people. Many of them don't follow my page, but have all been invited. Some chose to follow other popular similar pages, which share quotes and motivatational posts and happily share the content on their own social platforms - that's fine, this isn't a competition. And some do follow, share, interact with my page - which only helps spread my story and general awareness. I continue to do this, despite the mockery, because it is important to me. Deeply important. And I won't stop because of a minority. I've had messages from people saying thank you. I've had messages from people sharing their story. I've had people saying that some of my posts have inspired and motivated them and given them a fresh outlook. High priase indeed. Amongst my regular posts, I've written some blog posts:- Depression "Just Is": https://ift.tt/2NeySLU Say No to Bullying: https://ift.tt/2GzUj9W Build Confidence, Beat Bullying: https://ift.tt/2NgdA0t An Anxious Mind: https://ift.tt/2GyKwkb Nobody can put you down: https://ift.tt/2NhkjXQ via Instagram https://ift.tt/2SdqHQX

http://bit.ly/2E1iHys I've been accepted to become a crisis counsellor, where I complete 25hr training course before committing 200 hours (voluntarily) to crisis counselling, in which I'll help those at the darkest times of their lives and hopefully help them through it via the email/text service the organisation offers. I'm super proud and excited to get this started. _ #crisis #counselling #support #lifejourney #learning #challenge #mikemeetslife via Instagram http://bit.ly/2Gxkop6
