My aim is to create: 🙏 An adult colouring book, great for self care and helping to relax your mind. For many, it's very therapeutic. 🙏 An A1 wall calendar for you to organise your yearly dates. It will come in a variety of colours and include sections to remind yourself of how amazing you are. To keep you motivated. 🙏 A mood journal - a journal designed specifically for you to record how you feel, monitor the progress you make and give you tips to keep going. Writing a diary is a great way to offload. 🙏 An annual diary - a standard day to day calendar but with motivational messages and simple mood trackers built in to each day. Reminders of your worth and weekly tips or suggestions to improve your mental health. 🙏 Postcards - a scheme I've been considering for a while. You'll be able to send friends or family, or even random strangers, an anonymous postcard. You'll be able to pick from a number of designs which will be motivational, supportive and/or positive quotes and enter a small anonymous message that will be hand written on the back. 10% of any profits will be donated to a mental health charity every year on the sale of products and the rest will be reinvested in to resources to help others. Mental Health Awareness Week. Well, for me, it's a lifelong mission. I believe mental health should be a ongoing and global priority and whilst I wholeheartedly appreciate those raising awareness, I can't help but think it is just another social trend many want to keep up with as opposed to actually practicing what they preach. In February 2020 a well known and loved celebrity ended her life after a battle with mental illness. Caroline Flack was mourned by the masses and continues to be missed by all those who knew her. It started a #BeKind social media campaign which millions got involved with. But what of it now? I still see people being unkind on all platforms on and offline. I see people choosing to say something, rather than say nothing - when they have nothing better to say. And I cant help but feel that whilst any press is good press, in this instance any awareness is positive - that it's shared on false pretences. We have to start owning up to the decisions we make and follow through with the advice we choose to share. Kindness is and always has been free. It may not always be reciprocated but fuel your heart with warmth and kindness rather than jealousy and hate and I believe you'll live better for it. Walk away with your dignity in situations which challenge your kindness, rather than retaliate and lower your standards. Being kind takes no energy, it has never harmed anyone and never will and most of all, it's good for you and your soul. Please, be kind to yourself and be kind to others. I've come across my fair share of people who have shared hate about me directly or indirectly - or who have made decisions about me based on decisions made out of my control. I've also had sad individuals even try to discredit me for the good I've done and they've not been able to see the bigger picture. I've let that bug me for years, but I don't anymore. . I recognise subtle changes in behaviour, I read your energy whether you're in my physical presence or not and I know when things aren't quite right, even if you may not even fully acknowledge it yourself yet. I fear there will be not only people struggling with anxiety right now, given the circumstances, but there will be a lot of others who develop their anxieties once they see the world starting to return to what the world thinks normal should be. When they realise the shackles of their work are slowly being replaced and tightened once again and they start to live to work; spending too many hours with those who don't appreciate it and less with those who rely on them and love them with everything they have. When the oceans start to fill with plastic and animals retreat to where they deem safe from the giants who hurt them damage their land. When people become less kind and the clapping on doorsteps stop to show appreciation for those who save lives and protect us. When rainbows disappear from windows and are suddenly less inviting and bright. And luxuries are taken for granted once again. When shopping bags are filled with only personal items. And the hungry, the elderly and the homeless are invisible once again. When friends and family lose the value of contact. Quiz nights on Zoom are not even a thing. PE in your living room, dancing on TikTok or singing on webcam is only a memory. When people start to lose sight of what really is important. And when money is more valued than love and egos are bigger than hearts. We can all say we don't want the world to return to normal, but who will put it in to practice? Do we really want to return to the world we knew before? Do we really want to put anything above our happiness?
